Cosnefroy Claims First Win in Brabantse Pijl
In a thrilling finale, Benoît Cosnefroy emerged victorious in a seven-rider breakaway sprint at the 2024 Brabantse Pijl. The 28-year-old Frenchman outpaced Dylan Teuns and Tim Wellens to secure his first-ever win in the Belgian classic.
A breakaway of seven riders, including Van den Berg, broke away from the peloton early on and established a substantial gap. As the race approached its conclusion, Van den Berg launched an attack from the front of the group, but Cosnefroy was able to reel him in and launch his own sprint.
Cosnefroy's powerful sprint proved too much for his rivals, and he crossed the line ahead of Teuns and Wellens. The Frenchman has now stood on the podium three times in Brabantse Pijl, but this is his first victory in the race.
Dylan Teuns finished eighth in the Ronde van Vlaanderen, and his top-10 finish in the Brabantse Pijl continues his impressive spring campaign. The Belgian rider is one of the favorites for this year's Tour de France.
